Comair TA

Comair guys, what is the overall attitude toward the new TA? I realize that it will be next monday before the vote is announced, but what is the word on the line about the TA? Is it going to pass?

We should know this friday afternoon the decision.

My guess is it will pass. I haven't heard as much outrage with this TA as with last years voided LOA that passed by 50%+6 votes. The attiude of the peopel I have talked to is, it is better than the imposed company terms, and that the BK claim for the pilots may be worth as much or more than the company saved.

How I gauge it may not be accurate. I probably only come in direct contact with less than 1.5%(that would be 24 pilots out of 1600ish) of the pilot group on a busy month. That isn't a very good sampling to take a read off of.

It stinks to give up an money and I'm not happy about it, but i feel it is better than the alternative.

I see no reason why it wouldn't pass, some people are quite upset over it and the way that the settlment might be divied up but as the previous guy said it is better than the imposed contract. We will see what happens this weekend eh?

well, to be honest it is a POS. I have been here at comair since 04/20/98, I have only voted in favor of 1 agreement and that was the one that got us of the street in 01. The BR claim is 82.5 mill. However, that doesnt mean any more then the paper it is written on, because, the claim is for sale. Most claims get sold and NEVER for the amt of the claim, so I see our claim getting 50 to 60 cents on the dollar or about 41.25 mil. to be inserted into our 401 k's at some point. Be aware, comair is not the place to be if you want to make a living being a pilot, trust me...

Just out of curiosity - 41.25 mil divided by 1600 pilots = $25,800 in a lump sum payment, in exchange for an average pay cut of what? If the average pilot makes $55000 or something like that, it would have to be a pretty big pay cut to make it seem like it wasn't worth it some how. So why would this not be a big win for the Comair guys?

would you rather have the company imposed rates? I think the new contract will pass... because of the court's ruling there isn't much else that can be done

Sounds like damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Good luck.

Like most of the folks have stated, I have not heard much in the way of outrage over this TA. I think it's a real POS, especially considering how we got to this point. Yes, the highest paycut is 13%, then loss off the contribution plan, and some of the work rules. The bk claim will not be divided up evenly, there should be a senority system to it. At 4 years, I would be lucky if saw $10,000-$15,000...which is better than nothing.

I STILL SAY NO!!!!

INAV8OR 02-28-2007 03:54 AM

I would rather take my chances after BR, the claim isn't going to be anything. I already voted NO

skywatch 02-28-2007 07:01 AM

INAV8OR - Please take it easy on the new guy, but why would you guys vote down 82.5 million in claims and the existing deal to work under the imposed (and I assume worse) terms?
