I'm afraid that you have your head buried in the sand. There are quite a few pilots out there who care a whole bunch about GoJet. I'm sure, as a gojet pilot yourself, that you have experienced quite a few times, just how much some people care about GoJet. You cannot convince me that you walk through the TSA training center and recieve smiles from the pilots walking around with bright orange badges. You also cannot convince me that you haven't noticed the alter eGO JET stickers at many of your stations. You continue to compare GoJets with the changing of contracts everywhere in the industry, but there really is no comparison, and everyone on this board knows better. You knowingly began working for a company that existed entirely for the purpose of bypassing an existing ALPA pilot group's contract. You may or may not have a hard time getting hired somewhere else in the future, only time will tell. But you'd better hope that the person interviewing you, wasn't a member of the TSA seniority list or a TSA sympathizer.

However, with Mesa and GoJets and CHQ, their contracts/pay are lower which (among other factors) enables their management to undercut everyone. The XJT pay is higher than ASA's CRJ-200 pay which means XJT management found other ways to make our operation cheaper.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter how we were able to attain a cheaper price than ASA. ASA pilots are still out of some flying and they're fighting a long, uphill battle for their contract - all of which sucks.

Is it possible that its not JUST about price? If that were the case, we would have all be absorbed my Mesa long ago and Mesa would be the only regional airline going. I think we may be seeing the turnaround where carriers realize that cutting costs at any cost is not the answer. CAL got a mess on their hands when they tried to find someone cheaper than XJT, both operationally and from a customer service standpoint. Hopefully they learned something from the CHQ fiasco (probably not), but only time will tell. I think Saab may be on to something with the 170s though. Lets hope the CAL pilots hold firm on their scope. Yeah, it sucks when one pilot group sees growth at the expense of another but thats the gig folks. Its not "SkyWest's flying" or "ASA's flying" or "XJT's flying". Delta markets the routes, sells the seats, takes the risk and collects the money (or eats the loss). Its Delta's flying, simple as that.

Let's see if I understand.... if Mesa offers to do some flying for a lower price than its competitors, then it's "undercutting", but if XJT does the exact thing with the Delta flying in LAX then it's not undercutting:confused:

and you said it was about the money, and not the service.....

well said. its major's flying, and they pit regional carriers against each other. so regionals dont steal flying from each other, they just undercut each other. and one company emerges as the leader of the pack. right now looks like skywest, but in the near future i think republic will take the lead.

I agree... apparently its bad to undercut other regionals by a lot but if you do it by a little, its ok. And I'm saying this as an xjtr... let the bashing begin.
