Default Which is better Dash8, EMB120, or Saab340?

Enough of this ERJ/CRJ Barbie jet discussion - Time for the real pilots to debate which is better...1900 guys feel free to chime in but you already take a 2 stroke mulligan for having no lav or flight attendant

Same answer as in the ERJ/CRJ thread...

The one that pays the best and has the best quality of life!

I'd fly a Piper Seminole for a living if the pay and quality of life was high enough...

Well the Q is in a class of its own - That plane owns any regional aircraft period. For the sake of arguement - lets keep it between the D8-200, Saab340, and the Emb120

Lets lay 'em out:

100- Slow, Old, Honest, and Slow
200- It's the V8 Mustang vs. the Sixbanger.
300- Will Take whatever you can put into it, faster than 100
400- Have to ask the Horizon folks.

Have a little fun, I get tired of talking pay and q.o.l. all of the time. Lets Talk about these planes as pilots, not employees.

Well I've only sat in the jumpseat on the 200, i do have to admit is slow. The 400 on the other hand is an airplane in a class by itself. Average ground speeds I've seen is an average of 420kts at FL250. Have seen 480kts as max but have flow with guys that seen it in the 500's. The cockpit is very comfortable and is advanced as any RJ out there. We can do things in the plane even at Horizon that the CRJ700 can only think of doing. The only thing a CRJ has above an Q400 is Jets, a little more speed and oxygen mask. Passengers are way more comfortable in the Q400

It's all perspective I guess, the 200's are hotrods compared against the 100.
