Yes...a very high percentage of pilots just go to a ATP flight school location and do the written in one day. I did that and got a 96. I think it cost about $295. Good luck.

Thanks, just what i wanted to know.

CRJJetJock (or anyone else), were there other guys/gals they made this exception for in your group? Do you think it is a common practice?

It sounded as though there were others. but if it can be avoided i would definitly avoid it. but they need pilots so if they like you they will hire you without it. you just need it by training. Good luck it's seems like a good company. Hopefully the contract gets worked out soon.

I have heard of exceptions being made. But why take the chance. Go to ATP...it is only one day out of your life. You will be done with your written by happy hour. Might as well just get it out of the way. Also, it does become a little review for the interview. I understand the 295 bones is hard at Flight Instructor pay, but even if you do not get the 9E position. Having the ATP written done, makes you more qualified for other interviews. Good Luck.
