There goes the neighborhood.

Awesome...

G-Dog 03-13-2007 04:16 PM

This load of crap comes from the link above.

"We are delighted that Delta has once more demonstrated confidence in Mesa and provided us this opportunity to expand our valued partnership," said Mesa Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Ornstein. "Since we began flying for Delta in October 2005 our people have worked hard to provide a high quality product to our Delta Connection customers and we would like to thank them for their important contribution."

"We look forward to continuing to work closely with Delta to deliver the best customer service experience possible to our passengers and to ensure that Mesa continues to make a positive contribution to Delta's success," Ornstein added.

"Delta is pleased to be expanding our relationship with Freedom Airlines," said Shawn Anderson Delta's vice president in charge of the Delta Connection. "The addition of these capable new aircraft -- the CRJ-900 -- into their program in a two-class configuration will be a clear winner for our customers."

These people are mentally unstable, making statements like these.

Does this shootdown the 9E rumor?

JoeyMeatballs 03-13-2007 04:23 PM

What a ***** Disgrace, why do you people stay there long enough for them to be able to ***** you guys out for more flying....................

Only annoucements today involved Mesa and CHQ.

CHQ will be losing the 135s starting next Sept. at a rate of 2 per month. Maybe this means for 170s for Shuttle further down the road. Who knows at this point. Maybe more annoucements concerning this in the coming days.

Saab, did you read that quote from JO? What a putz. Not many Delta agents at various airports like Freedom service.

 What does that mean? I am a putz?

DMEarc 03-13-2007 04:34 PM

We need to stop pilots from going there...

Ornstien will learn how crappy they treat their guys and wake the hell up.

Mesa guys- GET A BETTER CONTRACT THIS SEPTEMBER. PLEASE FOR ALL OF US!

BoilerUP 03-13-2007 04:36 PM

If they can't staff those airplanes, that contract won't last. Anybody wonder why RAH has bonuses now for 145/CRJ qualified pilots?

ghilis101 03-13-2007 04:37 PM

haha pretty sure he meant jo is a putz, which is the understatement of the year. delta is doing some serious diversification here, is this the last announcement we're going to hear from delta for a while?

JoeyMeatballs 03-13-2007 04:38 PM

Im telling you, if these guys wouldnt go /stay at MESA maybe they would have a harder time whoring themselves out for the flying................Block or better Boys, Block or Better

yep...i totally agree...

do you remember when the iraq war was in the first stages and "baghdad bob" made statements like...

the american troops are committing suicide at the city gates

i felt the same way...

mesa...feel sorry for the pilots...jo is a douchebag or just what his initials say...

at least skw didn't get it

ghilis101 03-13-2007 04:43 PM

"Things Change" good theme, and good luck to mesa guys

JetJock16 03-13-2007 04:49 PM

Sad, we're finally seeing that Delta no longer gives a crap about their product. Once Delta rebounds and Mesa starts to cost them money and prestige, Mesa will lose the flying.

Do you hear that?

Tick, Tick, Tick ----- BOOM!!!!!!!!!

mking84 03-13-2007 05:00 PM

Jesus Mesa sucks. Why do good things happen to shi*** airlines?

It's not good; Delta is currently looking for the airline that will do it the cheapest, almost cost! SKW, E9, XJT and RAH won't touch it for the offering price. This comes straight from JA mouth.

He's just a hater. We all need to look past the few posters like Slap and now AbZorb who are out to hate on everyone else. We should all back one another regardless of our airlines position. After all we all have the same goals and aspirations, we all want to improve our industry and we all want to educate newbies about MAG and GoJets.

The award was only for 14 planes. Delta had bought 30 and options for 30 more. So it seems like there are 16 more out there with options for another 30.

It is good for mesa

Yes; good for Mesa, great for their pilots but bad for the industry. Not that it's Mesa, it's about what DAL is now doing.

XtremeF150 03-14-2007 12:21 AM

Many of the pilot group at MAG really don't care how many planes he adds. most of us are far beyond disgruntled. I just wish that there was some way to collectively damage J.O. that wouldn't put all the pilots out of a job. I just don't think that is possible. It will take this place going out of business and I just don't see it happening.

I would like to report some progress in the attempts to change MAG. They are having such a hard time hiring pilots, they have dropped their $50 fee to apply and started paying for hotels from the begining of training. They are also offering a bonus to anyone willing to send their friends to h3ll...or that pass training I mean! So keepit up guys if everyone keeps spreading the word we can all help shut down the sweat shop...

SharkyBN584 03-14-2007 06:18 AM

Question to Mesa pilots:

You know your company sucks and you know you're undercutting the industry...so why do you still work there? I would think that any pilot with 121 experience and some multi would be able to get outta there.

My thinking is it sucks enough for you guys to want sympathy, but not enough for you to actually leave. Enjoy the SKW/RAH/ASA/Comair flying...

N2rotation 03-14-2007 06:36 AM

Yeah I guess this is sad but true. Good guys finish last (Comair). Comair deserves at least the other 16 airplanes... they should probably get them due to growth clauses in their contract.

This isn't really growth for Mesa though. Their 12 Crap-8s out of JFK will be done by September... displacements for pilots.

They will probably sell off Air Midwest to find pilots to continue to operate. That's the only way they can survive.

wouldnt you be doing the same thing if you were trying to come out of bankruptcy?

Just like RAH enjoyed Comair and ASA flying, and Skywest enjoyed ASA and ACA/AWAC flying, and AWAC now enjoys Mesa USX flying, and XJT will enjoy ASA flying, and so on and so forth...

I never said it was good for the industry. In fact it makes the problem worse, so it really isn't that great for the pilots. Unfortunately getting rid of these cheap regionals would be the only good thing for the industry, unfortunate but true. We'd all be alot better off without companies like Mesa and Gojet.

The reason is simple. We're already here. No need to re-train, and go back to the bottom of the list somewhere else.

I am happy, fly a great airplane with great captains. My payrate is sub-par, but I live pretty simply since I'm on the road 20 days out of the month.

Are there days I dislike it: you bet. Are there days I love it: more than you can imagine.

Your happy where you are, so allow us the same.

Not sure but I don't think it does.... To me all this demonstrates is that DL is willing to outsource a lot of bigger regional flying to almost anyone..... BTW what is the DL Pilot Scope??? I get the impression it's not very good if it even exists at all....

higney85 03-14-2007 11:28 AM

I understood DL to be 77 seats and up is mainline. They had to give up 51 seats in the last contract. *as I understand it*. As far as the 9E rumor... this RFP only accounts for 14 of the 30 planes on order... 16 still need to be placed somewhere (publicly)

You guys say this stuff alot, I am not sticking up for Johny boy here but what is it you know about the product that I don't? An Rj's an Rj, a lousy FA is no different here that at X-jet or skywest? We are on time as much as anybody per the DOT and better then a few of you boys on your soap boxes. So where are you getting your information?

Sorry, I about gagged. But do you mean to tell me that some of you guys are happy there? Granted, if a guy is at the top end of the pay scale, family, lives in base, whatever. He has a different set of circumstances. But for an FO to say he is happy at Mesa is a bit of an oxymoron, no?

You already said your payrate is sub-par, you are happy with that?

You are on the road 20 days a month, you are happy with that? Especially with your perdiem rate?

Shame. One man's ceiling is another man's floor.

An email from Ornstein to Mesa employees- taken from another message board:

I thought everyone would enjoy seeing this terrific news! Over the last few years all of our airline partners have been significantly restructured primarily due to bankruptcy. Mesa has had work through each of these situations - and as we all know it is not always been easy. We have moved 59 aircraft out of USAIR, 18 aircraft to CLT from PHX, and most of our UAX operation has migrated East as a result of our expansion with United and our replacement of Atlantic Coast in IAD. We have all worked hard to provide our airline partners with the best possible product at the most attractive cost. I am very pleased to tell you our efforts have been successfull on a number of fronts - most notably as reported in this press release with our partners at Delta. Over the next 18 months approximately we will be adding 20 aircraft into our Delta operation - the remaining 6 ERJs currently flying with UA and 14 brand new 76 passenger CRJ 900s. In addition Delta reaffirmed our existing contract for 30 aircraft with only minor modifications involving the reduction of 8 aircraft three years from now. Not all of Delta's regional partners fared as well as we did - in fact, some (Republic and Comair) actually lost flying. This new flying will provide additional opportunities for many of our people including approximately 100 captain upgrades, 100 new FO positions, approximately 170 new flight attendant positions, 50 additional positions in maintenance and 20 in SOC - in total over 500 new jobs at our company. I waould like tot hank each of you contributing to our success - if we continue to work together I am confidant we will see additional new opportunites that will provide both growth and job security for all of us. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Congratualtions! Jonathan

In a profesional indstry it's nice to know that yur CEO uses spel check when addressing his employees with kool-aid emails. His regard for communications is paramount!

Koolaidman 03-14-2007 05:27 PM

That can't be a legit email, do you guys really think that he is that stupid and ignorant to send out an email like that? If it is true, it just disgusts me even more.

One thing some of us don't understand about Mesa, is that when you don't know what else is out there, you can't understand what happiness is all about. Sure, you could be happy at Mesa... when your other option is flight instructing in Phoenix in the summer. It is easy to say you are happy when you haven't experienced better. I personally would have never known about SkyWest if TSA wasn't such a sht company and furloughed for no reason. I was as "happy" as a Mesa guy! "I am gone 20 days a month, fly a great airplane, bs bs bs, etc." There is a reason why more first year FO's leave TSA and Mesa within a year than CA's leaving and going to mainline carriers. I guess not all of us can figure out why?

Good luck with Mesa and enjoy the abuse.

Please don't get me wrong, everyone I have met from Mesa has been really nice, but what you put up with and stand for is pathetic.

.

I didn't even pause or think twice when I read the typos. Almost every official communication that I received from that company was riddled with gross spelling and grammatical errors. Although out of the whole lot, ornstein was about the closest to actually being literate.

I'll comfirm it, yep thats the one my fearless leader sent me. Bwahahahaha

Koolaidman 03-14-2007 10:09 PM

I guess someone should come out with one of those get-rich-quick videos to show everyone you don't have to be able read and write to be a millionaire. I can see it now, "Hi, I'm Jon Ornstein. Do you want to make millions and work from home? I have a nu video that wil sho you how to abuse peepol and get away with it! Plus, youll never have to werry about your laber group striking! With all the muny youll be makeng, you can buy ur union reps and juges off."
