Air Midwest
Does anyone know anything about Air Midwest, aside from them being owned by Mesa. Does anyone here fly for them or know anyone that does? If so how do you like it or how do you not like it? Any information on Good/Bad things about them is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not really, they fly EAS routes in West and Midwest states in B1900D's. They are always the source of rumors about being sold to Big Sky and Great Lakes. I guess upgrades are pretty quick but Mesa doesn't allow you to choose equipment from what I understand.

Desertdog71, no offense, but AGI? So you’re a CFI & an MEI, why did you spend $80 on your AGI, it's basically worthless. Are you currently working on your CFII and if so, are you going to spend another $80 for your IGI? Save your money, you don't need them! As a CFI, CFII or MEI you can teach ground without it.
This is only an observational bit of advice, no offense. I taught Instrument, PPL and CRJ ground without them. (I was a CFI, CFII, MEI) |

I was employed as a Ground Instructor prior to getting my CFI and MEI, so in that context it was not worthless. I then converted the money I made as an AGI into additional ME flight time. I am also 100% debt free including my mortgage. I think my financial decisions have been pretty solid so far.

Air Midwest huh? The good about them would be the people you would be working with. I used to work there, not flying, but in another dept. Your life will be hell from a schedule standpoint. They fall under the MESA contract and answer to JO. You do the math with that one. The mx is skechy at best. I remember an incident with a can of spraypaint and duct tape. That's all I am going to say about that. Scheduling has no regard for the contract. I know for a fact of SEVERAL violations. Be cautious of what you believe from crew tracking when they go in to the ground schools to talk. They have no regard for QOL. There are maybe 2 that you will want to ask for, the rest you will dread. I can give you more info, but pm to get it. I'm not gonna go into specific details on here. Hope this helps.
