A Positive Post
I positively think one should examine all the aspects of an aviation career.

Money isnt everything in life guys....
I have a friend who is a pro boxer, when he first started he was only making a couple hundred a fight(not even enough to cover medical bills sometimes) to support him and his wife. He has since gone on to fight for world titles and has a sucsesful career outside of boxing. But he said those first years were probably the best years

Happy ending

Not everyone can take those kinds of risks and have a fairy tale ending. Most don't. We all need a realistic plan.

N6724G,

How we stay positive when the world lost Anna Nicole and the dubious duo of Brittany and K-Fed broke up all in the same year. My despair knows no bounds. Oh yeah, I could care less.

On a serious and positive note; walk into any bar in the world and have a beer with a fellow aviator, BUY a beer for some random mechanic or ramp guy and you'll find that 96.9% of the dudes working in our industry are top notch. That's what I dig about flying, lawyers go to work to make a buck, we go to work because flying planes are cool, they were really cool back in the day with open cockpits and DC-3's over the Himalaya’s but they’re still cool today.

Hope the positive karma helps.

I worked on fishing boat in the Atlantic gutting sharks for two year just to pay for my ratings, I for one am a happy dude to pay the bills whilst in an airplane.

*PS here's some positive advice

1) Kick butt whever you work and be the best (fill in the blank) that company has every had
2) Keep your first wife because there had to be a good reason you married her back in the day and new women come with new issues
3) When you go on a trip, don't be the cheapskate that won't buy a round for the crew..that guy sucks

hest of luck

It's kind of like a government auction, some of it is crap some of it is priceless, the key is knowing the difference

This may help...
Think positive while reading any "negative" post!

This board definitely has had its negativity share but all in all, I have always thought that APC is the better of the bunch. I do wish though that everyone would just get along already. We all have to unite one way or sometime in the future in order to "change" this industry. There are too many bitter pilots that don't deserve to fly high but who am I to judge? Each person has their own story and they definitely deserve their own right. Okay, I'm just arguing with myself. Bye!

agreed
I cannot agree more with wavit. This is true. Since i have joined this site and read some things on this site i have thought about my future. When I was younger all i thought about was flying. When I would get frustrated I would think how cool it would be to be in a cockpit of a jet and seeing the world. I try and block out some of these forums i read (skyhigh especially). However, I still have the desire to do this. ITS GONNA BE A LONG ROAD BUT BEING AN AIRLINE PILOT WALKING THROUGH THE TERMINAL WITH ALL THE PEOPLE (LADIES) (CATCH ME IF YOU CAN MOVIE) LOOKING AT YOU, YOU CAN ASK FOR MUCH MORE.

Quote: I have learned that most people are never happy where they are at, they always think the grass is greener on the other side. This is true for most people in any job but we pay attention to aviatation. When we are getting our ratings life will be better as a CFI. When we CFI life will be better at a regional, when we get to a regional life will be better at a major. When that goal is reached life could be better at Fed Ex instead of CAL. You get my drift. It's all in the attitude but for most people they are never happy no matter what something else will always be better. i see the same things in other occupations, just stay positive and don't the "the grass is greener" bug bite you.
