Default XJET Quesiton

Hello to all xjet'ers, quick quesiton what's the likelyhood of getting IAH right out of training? What's the reserve look like? How bad/good is the IAH area in terms of nightlife, people, cost of living in general terms (never been there, moved to the central valley of califorina (hotter then h#ll out here!) for an instructing job, but lived in Boston my whole life, GO SOXS!)?

First off, GO YANKESS, 2nd, if you are the most senior in your class you may get IAH, but if not you will be able to get it soon, we are running perm bids almost every other week due to our expansion, we have ONT, and LAX if you wanted to stay West Coast. EWR from BOS is an easy commute. QOL in IAH depends, I am from Jersey so I am used to North Jersey/NYC nightlife, very very different from TX

Cool, thanks for the info. I'm liking IAH because it's so dirt cheap to live, and the girlfriend lives in califorina, but I can't afford ONT or LAX. EWR is kinda out, that would mean I would have to live with the rental units, which is lame, "Hey guys I can't go out late tonight, I don't want to wake my parent" lame. How does express base seniority. I"m 22, so I feel like I"m going to get the short end of the stick. One last question, based in IAH do you get to go system wide, Mexico and Canada, or does EWR mainly do Canada? Basically I don't want to just stay in the USA I'd love to go as far as possible, which base is best for that?

I am from Houston so IAH QOL is Fantastic! If you are IAH based you will fly system wide on the continental side. Which means Mexico USA and Canada, West Coast and East coast. You will fly everywhere out of IAH. Being 22 you may be sent out West for a few months but should get IAH in a reasonable amount of time. Good luck.

Is seniority based on age within classes?
