If one wants to stay in the DFW area, what regional would be the best bet at this time? It appears that DFW is Envoy’s most senior base, so I was wondering if getting it as a junior FO is even a realistic possibility?

I’m at Mesa, DFW based, never sat one minute of reserve. If you want a flow go to a WO. If you want to build time and move on, Mesa can fit that bill. It is working for me. Haters are going to hate but I’m happy. EJets are back logged but CRJ training is about back on track.

Please, do yourself a favor. The CRJs are leaving and very few if any get the CRJ. If you are young then you probably will, but hey you are young and you have a great career ahead of you. If you a little bit older then you have a shot at the 175 and 145 and you will be back in DFW before you know it.

You really have three options here. Envoy, Republic, or Endeavor. Your QOL would be on par for all three if you stayed in DFW. Commuting to Republic, and Endeavor is just about the same QOL as being based at home for Envoy. Pay, Endeavor, Republic, Envoy is the ranking there.

I hear a lot of “lol Mesa” but no data. There’s some reference to bad management several years ago, but PanAm was a great place to work several years ago as well.
For pay, all regionals that I’ve noted, less EDV and RAH, are sub $40/hr. Maybe insurance is the killer but that just falls into the personal preference category - I personally wouldn’t take any airline’s insurance as retired mil.
I’m not pinging for Mesa, I have no 121 experience. I just never see any 2017-2018 era complaints. I’m not even scheduled to interview with them as of yet, but getting an easy commute out of training is a big deal and they may have that.
Thoughts?
