Good move, and let all of your newhire class buddies know that it is a smart move. This place is going down!

My understanding was that the initial contribution to a Roth IRA is taxable, and subesquent contributions are not. I haven't done enough research to understand the complications of the IRA yet, but I do know that it's definitely not too early to start saving for retirement - especially not in this industry!
As far as my new-hire class buddies go: at a minimum, we've lost 5 (including me) to CHQ, one to XJT, and one to a general dislike of the 121 business. This, of course, is only the people I know of. We're leaving like the proverbial rats.

I may be wrong, but I'm not sure that the aptitude test makes a huge difference. I got the call to come to class about half an hour after I interviewed, so there certainly wasn't enough time to send my answer booklet to a third party for scoring.

Roth contributions are made with post-tax funds....and therefore are not taxed again.

The gov't needs to revise the system and make those contributions non-taxable. It's baloney that down the road they are gonna find a way to tax you on that money when u get older, just another way they are double dipping.

People need to start looking at what the fellow in Georgia is promoting. He has some radio guy helping to get the word out, Neal Boortz(I think). They call it Fair Tax. I have done a little bit of reading on this and it would solve a lot of problems.

I know that the same questions get asked repeatedly on a message board as large as APF, but I've never seen it happen in a two-page thread before.

Waterski? I've never heard of that, what's that mean?

Alright...maybe it wasn't that funny.
