Logbooks during training
So I'm heading off to regional training next week. For the last 3 years I've exclusively used a digital logbook. Obviously, I can print it out, but there's no feature to print extra pages so I can hand write all the training flights in instead of printing it. I don't want to go print it out every time someone needs to see it through training.
I am using Safelog by Dauntless. I emailed them to see if I could just print out extra blank pages, but that's not an option. Those that exclusively use digital logbooks, how did you do it? |

You will not need your logbook during airline training.
Many instructors will not sign your book even if you ask them to... they don't want the liability if you use their training for GA currency. Also not all of them are CFIs. I wouldn't even log that SIM time, but if you must you'll need to keep copies of the airline records, since SIM requires an instructor signature to be legal. For IOE you log that yourself. It is not logged as dual received, it's logged as SIC, so again no instructor signature. |

Didn’t log a single sim session in training, including checkride. No need really. Figured if any company wants to see the records, they can get it from the airline via PRIA.

I never brought my logbook to training until my Oral for ATP and type rating.

You only need to log it if you need the extra 25 hours multi time. Otherwise, don't bother.
You'll probably need them for your type ride. I did. |

The way things are at most regionals now, you’ll get a job offer well below ATP mins. A second review of your logbook once in class is absolutely necessary.
