(I left after a year...too much money)

You need to have your private multi so that when your do your instrument rating in the twin you can log PIC towards the commercial certificate.

Just a question. I agree that all pilots need higher wages and alot of poeple say that all the airlines need to raise their wages to attract pilots. Well it looks like the trend in the industry is to hit rock bottom hours, (I don't agree with this trend) then they will have no choice but to offer better pay. Anyone agree that this is what is happening?

I think once they scoop up every pilot in the lower hour brackets that will go to the regionals, they wont be able to lower their mins any more and will have to raise wages to entice more people into the industry. I think it would have to get better because they will run out of pilots to hire if they dont improve pay and QOL IMO.

Also if quality carriers increase their first year pay and add bonuses, it will entice pilots at crap carriers like MAG and GoJets to jump ship. I know at SKW there's a joke about this:

Mesa may have their pilot development program in MPD but SKW has one too, "Mesa!"

LOL! That's so funny you say that! I actually had someone tell me to get hired at Mesa, go through the training and then send in my resume to skywesy and comair. LOL! Since we're on the topic, does TSA fly anything other than jungle junk or are the ERJs it? Also, why are these morons at the RJs keeping the QOL less than sleeping in a pile of horse manuer? Dont they know they are doomed if they dont improve things or are they that rock headed?

the companies are still in the mindset of years ago, where every pilot was just greatful to have a job. This is the first "pilot shortage" in a long while and its only going to get worse.
It will take them a while to figure something else out, and better work conditions and pay are on the last of their list.
You have to look at an airlines problems like a curable cancer, instead of coughing up some money for some good doctors and radiation therapy, they will try to cure it with band aids and aspirin that they can get at their local drug store for real cheap, and then when they are on the brink of death, they finally cry uncle and pay up. Its always been patch the problems instead of fix the big picture.

That hit the nail on the head! Hey, on another note, you fly the 145, right? I noticed that the control wheel is kinda funny looking...What's it like flying one of those birds?
