Never used it. But from jumpseating around on the EMB, I can assure you that the plane is loud as hell. If I were flying it, I would pull out the ole bose for sure. Just check the specs and compare it to the big headsets, like the passive DC all the way to the bose. If the decibel ratings are good enough, grab them. I have a set of Sennheiser ANR headphones (non-aviation) that I use when I commute, and it has excellent ANR reduction. They make quality stuff. If only it would eliminate the noise of that frickin hydraulic pump that runs during single engine taxi on the EMB. Good lord that thing is terrible.

In the CRJ, I am using a Telex 850. No where near quiet enough for the EMB, but for CRJ drivers reading this...I strongly recommend it. I could be a little bit quieter, but all in all I have no regrets.

I got one, I use it in the CRJ. It does a great job canceling noise with out turning the ANR on. I don't even us the ANR anymore, it EATS BATTERIES! Mine eats 2 AA batteries per 4 day trip. I would def recommend that headset though. It is real comfortable and well made.

Great headset; 20-25 bucks for some NiCads and a small quick charger and you'll be fixed right up. I can get through a long 4 day on a single charge.

NiMHs are vastly better than nicads, FWIW.

There is something wrong with your headset or you fly way to much. I maybe go through 4 sets a year, turn them off on your turns it helps.

I LOVE'EM!

the 145 is so loud that you need to wear ear plugs underneath something like this, I knew a few captains that had this style. If your going to spend this kind of money, look at the lightspeed mach 1, you can get custom ear molds for around 50 bucks. You can plug in your "iPod" (NO SJS Bashing), or a cell phone to it, of course you wouldnt want to ever listen to an iPod or talk on the phone while flying, but its pretty cool to know you can ;) Me personally i am happy with David Clarks for now, I find it humorous when us FOs spend a ton of money on stuff just to make us look cool. Seriously though, FOs spending 2 weeks worth of pay on a headset! COME AAANNN! might as well get a Scott Leather Flight Kit, Oakleys, and a Purdy Neat while your at it!

I'm not hating or anything, but why is it hilarious? Would you think that perhaps some choose to purchase an item once and never again, and by doing so, never have to deal with the "cheaper" stuff. I know that TravelPro and some other brands are good stuff too, but these items have been tried and tested. Might as well just be on the safe side. I know that the pay sucks, but if you can save up for the goods, its well worth it wouldn't you say? Just my .02. Cheers! :D

Or go cheaper
stick you fingers in your ears and listen to your own heartbeat
Cheap Cheap, and it sounds like the ocean
