Slywest is well known for lack of pilot protections provided by a union (at least well known on this forum). At least after your probationary period is over, when you are a union member. During a probationary period you are liable to be let go for potentially any minor infraction, the same at Skywest during all your employment there, as there is no union to provide protection from the company. Whether this is completely true is dependent on the situation.

It's unfortunate, but it is the way of the future. Boeing is now experimenting the single pilot operation. Look up in youtube, they had a robot land a 737 simulator.
