Minimum currency suggestions
Hello,
I’ve been out of the field for 3.5 years. I’m looking to go back to the regionals in about 6 months to a year. I was thinking at least some training and a IPC . Do I need to get multiengine current ? Trying to get current on a budget. I have 2000tt 700MULTI PIC. Thanks, Someone mentioned that the regionals were so desperate they would hire me without current but I doubt that’s true. I am taking sportys IPC online ground school too. |

Proficiency is part of the experience package. It would be a shame to waste a shot at a regional by showing up to learn a new turbojet type with little recent flight time. Recency and proficiency are two very different subjects. Proficiency can also be described as a pilot comfortably and professionally completing a mission.
Everyone is different, but simply passing an IPC is not the same as being ready for a turbojet, unless you’ve already been there and done that in a turbine... |

IPC and 25-50hrs in the last 12 months are what the “more selective” regionals are looking for.
Thank you, super helpful info. Looks like I’ll need to start saving to buy some more time. |
