Hello,

I’ve been out of the field for 3.5 years. I’m looking to go back to the regionals in about 6 months to a year. I was thinking at least some training and a IPC . Do I need to get multiengine current ? Trying to get current on a budget. I have 2000tt 700MULTI PIC.

Thanks,

Someone mentioned that the regionals were so desperate they would hire me without current but I doubt that’s true. I am taking sportys IPC online ground school too.

IPC and 25-50hrs in the last 12 months are what the “more selective” regionals are looking for.

Proficiency is part of the experience package. It would be a shame to waste a shot at a regional by showing up to learn a new turbojet type with little recent flight time. Recency and proficiency are two very different subjects. Proficiency can also be described as a pilot comfortably and professionally completing a mission.
Everyone is different, but simply passing an IPC is not the same as being ready for a turbojet, unless you’ve already been there and done that in a turbine...

Thank you, super helpful info. Looks like I’ll need to start saving to buy some more time.
