Given my advanced age (lol 47) I want to pay my dues as fast as possible at the regionals and hopefully move on within a few years. Looking at EWR as a base now with C5 (Commutair) having 4 flights a day from SYR - C5 is not exactly somewhere I would chose to stay for long but they look like a place to go if you value flight and upgrade time over QOL...Any thoughts folks? Certainly a lot of moving parts in this decision.
C5 would be a relatively terrible place to work. Commuting to a YX base at EWR on C5 while using your United benefits sounds a lot more palatable, assuming EWR is a junior enough base to get.

That being said, you could also use Delta benefits through YX to commute to LGA, even though 9E operates the flights. You won't get the highest priority, but you'll still get access to the flights.

There's also OO, but then no one will like you (I kid... kind of).
