Default Best Regional for Commute from IND

So, I am trying to move back to my hometown of Indianapolis due to family reasons. Part 135 is way too unstable, and as it turns out I don't like living in the city I'm currently in. I'm interviewing with Republic this month, but they've told me that their training classes are backed up until Dec 2019. However, I don't want my current employer to end up paying for a recurrent in May if I'm only going to be there for 6 months after that.

So which regionals would be best for a commute out of KIND? The logical thought for me out be Envoy or AirWisconsin out of KORD, Mesa out of SDF, TransState out of KSTL, or PSA out of CVG.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

6 months of work is plenty for your 135. Stick it out and go to republic. You can’t beat driving to work. You just can’t.

Classes at YX definitely aren't backed up to December. They're in July/August timeframe. Take 2-3 months of months off and go to Republic. Living at home is practically irreplaceable in the regional world.

I'm a commuter who doesn't mind my short commute to work, and I'm still with the other guys... wait it out and go YX.

I hope you're right. If thats the case I'll just do some SIC contracting for a few months. Fingers crossed!

Something else to consider, too, is that YX’s training delay is due to simulator availability. We’re building our own simulator complex, which is supposed to be done “sometime” in 2019. If/when that happens, the classes that are out that far will get moved up.
