That one made me laugh pretty hard. The Saab... pretty... good one.

I'm one of those guys. The Beech is an awesome machine, if you got into aviation for FAs and autopilots then yeah, go fly the SAAB. If you're into it for the love of flight then there is not a better hand flying turboprop out there. Plus it can carry more than an EMB-120 when it's hot and high and is faster than the flying road block (Dash). I flew the Beech in the Rockies and there is not a better mountain machine out there. Max weight out of TEX in the summer and still climbing like a bat outta hell.

Bottom line: All turboprops are cool and each has a specific discipline where it excels or fits the given market. Your job decision should be an individual weighted average of upgrade time and QOL.

And if you want to work for Jet Blew, you have problems way more urgent than which turboprop to choose.

How about both?
Start in the 1900, upgrade in that, then transition to the SF.
Then get out. That plan worked for me.

amen to that plan. HEy short bus, I heard LC got hired on over at spirit! Good for him! I know he was dying to finally get out of CJC.

It's true. He starts on the 30th. If he wants, he can get based out of ACY doing turns, and be home everynight with the wife and "baby" girl! Not even sit reserve.
But he told me he wants to "explore" other places in our system, so...?
Back to the thread, the 1900 is a GREAT machine!
The SF is cool, but a PIG if you're heavy.(Pax or ice):(

The D models do have a FD though.

Not all the D's have a flight director on the right side (actually, most that I fly don't).

The 1900 is a good bird, and echoing a previous poster, you gotta decide what you want, in terms of upgrade, pay, lifestyle, base, etc...don't just decide by which plane you think is the "coolest."

Good luck.

no, its called, the pax are not dying of heat stroke in the back, and you don't smell like rotten cabbage after 14 hours in 95 deg heat.

Im guessing you have A/C in your house right?
