Default Saab 340 or Beech 1900?

If you had your choice of either the Saab or the 1900, which one would you choose to fly? I've noticed on pay scales, the Saab drivers are making slightly more per hour than the 1900 guys/gals. What would be the reason for that?

Generally speaking, the pay is higher because it has more seats and thus should produce more revenue. I have never flown the Beech, but day in and day out I'd rather fly the SAAB simply because it has an autopilot.

Fly the saab if there is a choice. However if you are looking at a quicker upgrade in the 1900 there is always something to say when you do your first type ride in an airplane you already have a lot of time in.

ALso in the Saab you have a lav and a flight attendant. those 2 things are great to have on board when dealing with all those cranky or sick feeling pax.

The 1900 doesn't have an AP?

Nope and Nope. Well, the FO is technically the FA I suppose.

The D models do have a FD though.

The 1900 is very stable and trims up very well, so ya really don't miss AP that much. Plus, the legs are so short that you wouldn't really be able to use it all that much anyways. The FD is nice to have instead. I would rather have a FA than an AP.

I can't remember the airline, but they wouldn't accept 1900 PIC time because it didn't weigh enough. The Saab weighs more and therefore is accepted...
