Actually Cape Air has been fairly successful at EAS. In this case the same people keep doing the same thing under a new name. I believe that’s the definition of insanity.
Some of the same management for CPA, ADI and Seaport (there was someone else in there) were involved in this latest debacle. ADI actually had a good thing going until they walked away from Charter under a former Seaport “leader”

ADI was already a complicated beast, with lots of debt and moneys owed to everyone under the moon. They expanded too quickly, didn't have enough pilots (imagine that one), and got screwed by VIA Air when they stole a bunch of their documents when VIA claimed to be interested in merging with ADI.
Then of course the entire background of Scott Beale and questionable actions didn't sit well.
Add John Beardsley and Seaport team, who felt they could do it better, and quickly realized they bit off more than they could chew.
Now you have Ted Vallas, a dreamer, and an older gentleman, who may not have full control of all of his funds, who bought ADI from Beardsley without realizing you have to actually *run* an airline rather than just add it to your list of assets.
If Ted & his group can properly fund ADI/CalPac, they DO have a future. But it just has to be done right. And letting payroll lapse, again, is not how to do it.
