Default Republic in May or elsewhere?

As of right now I'm pretty set on Republic but I want to learn as much as I can before I make the big decision. My class date has been moved up from the summer to May (thanks to my awesome recruiter).

I'd like to know how much I can expect to fly per month and how long it would take me to get DCA or ORD as an FO. Everyone who I have personally talked to at Republic seems very happy.

All of the available information on this site is incredibly helpful yet also very overwhelming. Thanks to everyone who throws in their two cents.

I’m not finished with training yet, but so far I’d say Republic is a great choice. Great pay, airplane, and work rules. You didn’t say where you live, but the only way I’d choose another company is if I lived in one of their bases. You can get DCA fairly quickly, but you’ll be on reserve for a while. I’d say forget ORD completely. Very small, very senior, and shrinking.

I’ll let some more experienced guys chime in with other info.

As an FO you'll get DCA or ORD pretty fast. DCA is fairly junior on the captain side, you will never see ORD after upgrade.

If ORD is what you want I wouldn’t even consider Republic. You’ll get it as an FO but as soon as you upgrade you’ll never see it again. Republic has been shrinking ORD to almost nothing the past 3 years. If you’re set on ORD go to Skywest or Envoy. DCA on the other hand is pretty junior on both sides.

ORD is junior at Expressjet, and you can start there in two weeks.

The future of ORD is precarious.

Unless you’re going to endeavor, recommend you stay at republic.

Much better pay/QOL than most of the competition provided you’ll be happy with DCA in the long run.

I think you should go somewhere you can start immediately and give me your spot.

If ORD is on your wish list, then Republic probably isn’t a good fit. We have a very large base in IND, so that may be an option. DCA is a large base, and has pretty good trips. If you’re commuting (Not recommended with out stations) I would choose the base with lowest reserve times.
