I've always liked the look of gold stripes and accents rather than the American silver stripes. For whatever reason, it really bothers me seeing silver stripes haha. The double-breasted suits at Delta is a little much I think, but I'd happily wear it.;)

How the hell is talking about unis either of these?

Why the rude remarks all the time? Do you have self esteem issues and feel the need to belittle others to make yourself better?

I have to say (I think) the JetBlue uniforms wins the award for "Ugliest Uniform" blue shirt, blue stripes, blue tie, blue blazer, blue pants.... blehhhh.

1. Yes, you can tailor your uniforms to fit better.
2. At the regionals, they pretty much wear three different uniforms:
- Black with silver stripes which is what Air Wisconsin wears.

Not to split hairs, but ZW is navy blue.

Wear the uniform how the people who sign your paychecks ask you to wear the uniform.
I personally don’t mind the hat, it presents an image the traveling public expects, so whatever.
I also hate gold accents, give me blue with silver / platinum stripes any day.

I could see that, maybe FollowTheCoRJ finally quit and notmpet said “mission accomplished”?

That's pretty much it right there. You agreed to do exactly that when you accepted the job. Keep your word. Rebellion is for adolescents, not professionals.

Even if it's ugly and/or dorky, if you don't wear it proudly it's because you don't take pride. Ask yourself why you are doing something in which you don't take pride.

Iron it.

They said the hat is encouraged but optional - I opt not.

Who sells nice shirts that are no iron required, in a slim or athletic fit? I've got a large neck and wear a 44 jacket, but have a 34" waist. Most dress shirts that fit usually choke the $hit out of me, and the ones that I can button around my neck usually look like I'm wearing a moo-moo.

Charles Tyrwhitt, their extra slim non-irons are good for that shape.
For uniforms, you wear what company issues and usually end up being uncomfortable or looking like sh*t.

Can't lose neck size dude, unless I drop about 80 lbs. and look like a skeleton.

Exaggerate much?

I was hoping you blocked me. You must be a miserable person.

So what's the industry standard crew luggage nowadays?

Used to be TravelPro and Tumi.

Black rollerbag, usually LuggageWorks for pilots and FAs TravelPro - unless your OO, then you have a backpack to go with your horn rimmed glasses and a sweater. The backpack might be black.

Thanks. Checking out LuggageWorks.

Eh, prices are reasonable. Tumi's are ridiculous.

WhiskeyKilo 03-12-2019 12:14 AM

You want to see some goofy looking uniforms? Check out the pilot and FA uniforms that Porter wears.

Meh, they aren’t too bad... except for the hat. That thing is obnoxious.

StrongBags.com

It is a SWA pilot that made some really great bags. Mine has made it for 7 years and it is still going strong.

Didn't UPS have brown unis years ago?

I could live with the unis, but those hats are clownish.

Probably want the carbon fiber frame... same suitcase we've always used but much, much lighter than the traditional steel frame. If you commute I'm not sure if the carbon frame can take the same abuse as the steel, but I assume it's pretty tough.

My next one will be carbon for sure, but I don't commute.

Still do. I personally dark uniform shirts, you don't look like slob if you spill a little coffee or catch a little oil on the walk around.

Yeah, the Carbon is 11.5 lbs versus 14 lbs for the Stealth.

The dark brown isn't bad, I thought it was closer to the driver's uni brown for some reason.

Coneydog 03-12-2019 07:50 AM

I use the stealth and always liked it, although it’s in need of repair. Didn’t even realize there was a Carbon. I’ll have to check it out

NovemberBravo 03-12-2019 08:34 AM

UPS definitely the worst with the new United uniforms coming in second.

BoilerUP 03-12-2019 08:40 AM

UPS has dark brown pants and blazer (which almost nobody wears), white pilot shirt, and brown hat (that again, almost nobody wears).

The current dark brown looks much better than the lighter brown through the mid-00s.

I bought the Carbon a while ago. Expensive, but so much easier to haul around airports.
Carbon is stronger than steel in this kind of abuse.

I wouldn't trust a pilot who buttons his coat like that.
