Who exactly is this "big bro" you are afraid of? Why are you afraid of him? After all, you have a job at UPS right? What are worrying about?

I don't think you getting banned would necessarily be a bad thing.

What do have against black guys?

Whatever, how old are you? Are you in love with somebody and feel compelled to defend them soley based on their avatar pic? Might wanna get out of mom's basement and go talk to a REAL woman.

Maybe she doesn't have anything agains black guys. I guess she's just one of those dorky white girls that likes to talk like she is from the 'hood. You know, using words like "foo" and "brotha".

Superpilot92 04-29-2007 09:15 PM

i personally want to believe that thats her in that picture! Dammit!! Dont take that away from me!! J/K HMP;)

Shall I zoom in closer? lol. You really don't want that. Then again, I have nothing to hide. I don't fly 767's, CRJ's, ERJ's...anything "cool"...just a duchess, that we all started out in at one time or another.

Don't argue with someone like that. If she's legit, well...then you see what kind of person she is, for what that's worth. If she's not, well...why waste your time really.

randalis 04-29-2007 09:17 PM

haha how did this go from attrition rates to who we all are?

planecrazyjenn 04-29-2007 09:19 PM

Good point. lol.

lol..
I'm not defending anybody....and i'm not with you guys to bash on her....
I'm just standing on the sidelines and giving you my .01 cent (yes, I'm a poor PSA new hire)...occasionaly I'll throw some fuel in the fire:D

Maybe you need to come out of daddy's closet and actually GET some from a woman....a REAL woman....and blowups don't count:D
Maybe that's why you bash HMP.....(been hurt in the past, perhaps?)

And about slang
No...did you forget??
That's how they get down in private schools :-D
Makes them feel like they're in a public school! lol :-)

Yeah that wasn't much fun but it was a great learning experience for later...and nah I don't post in the regionals for obvious reasons. Just found the topic interesting. I don't have anything to say on the actual topic (republic attrition), so I'll hush now. :)

Complete different kind of "attrition" going on....

randalis 04-29-2007 09:34 PM

well I've never flown before, so I can't speak on much. I just come here to read/learn as much as I can from all the posts. I'm currently enrolled in a college to get my pilot degree. I find that ya'll are very informative when not flaming each other and not fixated on avatar pics

Dude.....It's ALL about the avatar pix :D
So...what have you learned so far from this board? (or the regionals section)
I've learned to watch out what you say on here and be careful what you put up as an avatar:rolleyes:

Well luckily i know how to use dictionary.com, because ya'll have used alot of words I'm not exactly familiar with(being that I'm not in the industry yet). But I've found out that the pay is nothing like what the counselor tells you. Most pilots don't like their job (or at least those that post here). Alot of the senior pilots don't want new hires to come in to their territory in the hope that one day the pay will go up. I'm assuming their was alot of pay cuts after 9/11. I currently work in a warehouse slinging boxes all day. So I don't have dreams of joining the majors or Legacy. I just want to experience the feeling of freedom that ya'll signed up for in the first place. I'm actually hoping to be placed somewhere locally as an instructor. And I'd be lieing to ya'll and myself for that matter if I told you I didn't want to at least go reginal. Get to wear the beautiful suits. Get to control a huge aircraft to the best of your ability. Get the feeling of satisfaction when landing the plane at your destination and your passengers get to see their families again(holidays/business trips/other pilots heading home). I am well aware that I'm going to now get all the negatives from the people here. But as I said before, I'm learning from ya'll even the negatives hold some lessons.

Thanks again everyone for your time. It's been entertaining and informative. I hope to see ya'll in the air one day soon.

hey man dont let all the negativity and endless bi***ing on this site bring you down. i have found that most guys that really enjoy this job try to stay off of these sites, or at least take everything written as a grain of salt. This career is what you make of it, its not the greatest, but with a good schedule, some decent work rules, and a fair amount of time off, this job, in my own opinion, is one of the greatest jobs there is. But one thing is, you have to have a lot of patience to make it through some serious BS to get a decent QOL. I feel in the next ten years things will get a lot better for airline pilots, it couldnt get much worse.
But if you get a stable job, just show up and do it, and just let some minor stuff roll of your shoulder, the job is awesome.
You mostly hear about all the bad stuff on these forums but most people never post about their good experiences or why they continually do this job despite their unhappiness. I mean really, people that hate this job dont do it for the money, you could easily work construction or bartend and make more than any regional FO, but notice most people dont get out of the industry. Some do, but most would rather have a crappy airline pilot job, than a good normal job. Including myself, even the worse day of flying is usually better than the average joes work day. So dont let our half empty glasses ruin your drink, its what you make of it. Have fun!

randalis 04-29-2007 11:02 PM

I've been reading the top 5 reginals to work for.... where do you work? I only made it to the 10th page or so. Getting late here and I'm going to have to go to bed. Work tomorrow at my boring warehouse job. Pay is nice at 16 bucks an hour and a half hearted guarantee of 40 hours a week. They promise us our full hours, but push us out the door as soon as they can. I work 4 ten hour days, then I'm off 3 days. What is the "average" new hire schedual? I've yet to learn how the 3 4 day trip thing works out. The websites say 70-80 hour a month guarantee. I've read in the posts that alot of pilots are working about 80-100 hours. How does a "normal" "new hires" schedual work? I'd appreciate it if someone could enlighten me. Give me a run through of an "average" month for some of you.

I highly doubt you know that. You need to post proof. You constanly claim that CHQ wasn't the lowest bidder, but still have yet to prove it.

Pretty sure TSA was cheaper than RAH...

No contempt for the CHQ pilots, most of them are stand up guys. Its their management that ticks me off. Bedford badmouths XJET for keeping the airplanes and further crowding the skys with regionals jets that nobody wants, then he goes and PULLS CRJs OUT OF THE BONEYARD. Talk about a hypocrite. And CAL didn't "86 a ton of our flying", they removed a whopping 69 airplanes. And CAL is not happy with CHQs performance to date. In GSO the gate agents are tired of the weight restrictions so they just pass out $1000 vouchers right off the bat. Same thing happened in COS and MSP. All three have easily spent $70,000 a month in denied boarding compensation. And CAL actually begged us to keep some of our XRs in the CAL fleet to pick up the slack the CHQ operation has left behind. You name it, broke airplanes, no crew, wrong crew(ERJ crew to fly a CRJ, its happened many times) crew members constantly missing DHs, the 90 day eval was not good.

You're right; its not public information. By the same token, you cannot reasonably claim that RAH was in fact the lowest bidder.

Between RAH and TSA, I have no doubt whatsoever that Hulas would have put out the cheaper bid, if only because TSA's bid for UAX flying was lower.

I will agree with you on both points. That being said Sharky needs to stop making the claim that CHQ was not the lowest bidder. He doesn't know, just as I don't know if they were the lowest bidder. If TSA did in fact put in a bid for the CAL flying, then I would say it is a safe assumption that they were towards the bottom of the barrel. HK would walk over his dying mother for a dime. That guy is a lousy, filthly POS.
