Should I notify RAH?

Default Should I notify RAH?

Last night or early this morning my truck was broken into while sitting directly in front of the hotel RAH is putting us up in. My flight bag was sitting on the floor out of view but they managed to take it. They went through my whole truck pretty good. I was wondering if I should tell someone and who. I know one person to a company isn't anything but if there are several of these I figured it'd be helpful to tell the company so they'd quit putting the guys/gals in that particular hotel. Worst part is now my lock is busted and my key won't work. Door has a nice hole punched in it and I can't get into my truck so I have to pay someone to pop the lock only to have to leave it unlocked until I can get it all fixed.

As much as it's a pain in the arse, you should never leave anything of value in your car at any hotel regardless of the location. They're favorite targets because people usually have some valuables with them while traveling.

There wasn't anything valuable in it. Just a systems book that I'm done with. Plus I have dark tinted windows. You can't see in there on the floor during the day especially at night. I understand what you're saying but my concern is just people getting robbed in general.

Why wouldn't you let them know. They may or may not fix the situation, but they definitely won't if you never say anything. Plus, you'll want another systems book to look over before recurrent next year.

You wanted to report a PDT crew because they appeared to you to be too low on an approach, and now you're going to keep quiet when you get broken into!? Then was the time to keep quiet, now is the time to speak up!

Most definitely tell them, they might want to know about the hotel for the future, but more importantly they probably should know that their (I assume it's theirs) book was stolen. In this era, any airline manuals, IDs, uniform items, etc. that are stolen may be considered a security issue. If that book contained something they don't want out to the public, authorities will be involved. You should tell the hotel and the police, as well, if you haven't already. Further, I don't know about RAH's policy on lost manuals, but you may have to pay for it if you can't turn it in when you quit. If it's stolen and you told them and / or have a police report you might be off the hook.

Sorry for your loss, that is an ugly feeling of being violated. Maybe a lock smith or junkyard can help out with your lock issue.

We actually get regular notices in our mailbox not to leave "pilot things"... particularly training manuals and uniforms pieces in our cars. It is fairly regular to see trunks popped and the like in the employee parking lot at the airport. I'm no alarmist, but reality is reality, there are people who are actively trying to get their hands on training manuals and uniforms in an untraceable way.

Yes, you should absolutely notify them.

Thanks for the responses I guess I'll let them know. But FYI no one "appeared" to be to low because it wasn't me. I was telling the poster to speak up if he really felt safety was a big issue, however that was beaten to death.

I'll give them a call. I did already call the Tech Pubs manager and I gotta say it was WAYYYYYYY easier than I thought to get them replaced. Just a phone call and they are being overnighted to me.
