Most of the people losing their jobs are based outside of STL. It was the smallest base and of those folks some were mgmt pilots, instructors, etc. STL based line pilots may try move over to G7.

Will it get harder? Yes. Will it be drastically different? I have my doubts.

Doesn’t GoJet have a base in STL? Is that not an option? I’d say your next best option is Chicago. Chose a regional that can get you ORD quick and can keep it after upgrade. Skywest or Envoy are probably your best bets.

Afraid to touch anything from holdings at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are bought up in the next 2 years.

The commute out of STL is a tough one. I made the STL-ORD commute for 5 yrs. It went to total crap once AA closed down STL. I moved to Chicago to regain my sanity.

The bad part of STL is having to go through security if you change airlines. What a pain.

Chicago is the least stressful because of options ORD, MDW, drive, I once even took the megabus back....Never again. Downside is it’s a big club.

NYC isn’t terrible if your good with public transit. EWR is getting easier again with an additional 170 and swapping a 145 for a bus. Plus fedex as a last resort.

DEN would be great if it wasn’t so many 50 seaters. You can get to DEN by 7am and there’s a late swa flight home.

ATL might be the easiest I can think of mainline metal every hour pretty much between DAL and SWA. Best part you don’t have to switch trains except for the terminal train.

Dallas see all my complaints about Chicago with less service, not drivable and no public transit.

Good Luck! Stay away from the west coast as it’s less fun then trying to find street parking in Clayton.

Good luck. Skywest is the perfect regional for ORD, they don’t treat it like an outstation. Plus tons of other base options if you decide you don’t like the Chicago commute.
