Envoy or Skywest

What's the best guesses on which carrier can get a person to DFW the quickest?

If AA is the end goal, should Envoy then be the logical and better option? Asking because I've heard several say lately they (AA) won't grab you from their regional...but I have heard of folks getting picked out before the flow.

For a commute to MQ/OO's likely new hire bases, which company do you guys with experience see as having the better options coming from DFW? Thanks!

Put all effort toward Envoy, imo. Maybe do a practice interview before their interview.

Got the CJO from both, but just soliciting advice on which to pick as i'll be in the next class for either one!

(Unless I want to start at ABX flying the 76 until UPS/FedEx calls (as high on list as the goal of AA)...they base out of CVG which could be about the same type of commute as to the bases for the other two).

My buddy bid for DFW about 2-3 months after finishing ioe and he got it. Last month he said he expected having a line the next month, haven’t talked to him about it since then. So like 4-5 months after ioe you’d have a line is my guess. We’re both Skywest, his date of hire was June last year. Good luck.

Keep in mind at Envoy as soon as you hit 1000 121 time you are forced to upgrade. Which will more than likely be to NYC where you will sit reserve for years. Also, it looks like right now the flow is around 8-9 years. It is possible to get picked up outside of the flow, but you are going to have to have lots of TPIC and that means commuting to reserve for years while you don't fly much.

DFW at Skywest is attainable after 2 months off IOE and a line after 6 months.

I'm a prior mil guy with 4,000TT / 2,000 TPIC already and guess I need a touch of recency/121 time to get a major to call as I've been available for a couple months so far with no luck and dwindling currency. They offered the NDEC/DEC bonus, but sure hope to not be there long enough for these offers.

For your info, Envoy has advised us that forced upgrades won’t continue in the near future. They seem to have enough eligible FO’s. Whether that is true though or if forced upgrades are truly done remains to be seen obviously. You couldn’t even get into New York if you tried to right now. They are actively hiring into ORD 175/145 right now.

Fighter time? You’ll probably get hired pretty quick. Either one is probably fine to be honest

I flew heavy cargo and trainers. Had a Delta bud just tell me today that my luck will be i'll start in the next few weeks at someplace and then i'll start getting calls from everybody to interview putting me in a bind during training not wanting to jeopardize a current job while hoping to pass the interviews! I guess there's worse problems in life if this happens.

Still looking to hear what anybody knows about AA plucking out a person from their WO?

It definitely happens. But I think you may have to voluntarily exit the flow program in order to apply and/or interview to AA outside of flow? Not sure about that last though.
