Default 49-PAX RJ may be in vogue soon

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...-covid-19.html

Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States

The Coronavirus Panic is the best thing to happen to the 50 seat market. Mark my word. My inside sources tell me furloughed mainline pilots will be lining up at headquarters. begging for a job in a few weeks. In the interest of national security air service will remain in place but with much smaller capacity. 50-seaters will be supported by the feds as essential air service that allows for reasonable passenger health screenings while maintaining service. Your regional airline job will soon be the best thing that ever happened to your career.

EAS routes will continue to be mostly a waste of taxpayer money, but are about to become the only profitable routes for any airline.
