Also the dispatchers in recurrent apparently had to sign the confidentiality paper, so that leads us to believe they are training on a different aircraft!!!! AH

You guys have RJs littered all over the CVG ramp as it is. Why would you get new ones when you dont even use what youve got?
Im not trying to slam you guys here either. Just an honest q. |
I think the news might be a mixed bag.
The general vibe is that it is good. However, I also foresee a GSO and MCO base closure in the near future. Not good. My guess involves 70s in JFK and BOS. |

see you there |
I wish you guys the best, but I hope its not like our big propaganda event like we had back in 2006 where management called this 3 base live telecast and tried to get everyone excited. It turned out to be called "the fight for our future" and how all of our planes are up for bid and we need to have a pilot contract or we will lose all of our flying. It sounds like something is going to happen, but delta already awarded all the 900s that were ordered (14 mesa, 16 pinnacle), so unless they excercise the 30 options they have, thats not it. Anyways best of luck tomorrow.

I was reading your web-site last night. It said pinnacle will directly acquire and finance the crj-900. Set to take flight NOV. 2007. Will pinnacle own the jets or are these jets delta owned. I read Mesa site it said will acquire thru delta and pay there lease thru delta...
If thats the case where did the other 16 jets go???? lil confused You bring up a good point and if that is the case, congrats on 16 crj900s tomorrow |

to the best of my knowledge, pinnacle will own the jets, there is a requirement from delta that we might have to buy 8 more.
You bring up a good point and if that is the case, congrats on 16 crj900s tomorrow I was kinda confused between the wording that was used. Since we werent able to submit a proposal to delts liking back in October. Then a contract was reached and then pinnacles announcement.... im all screwed up |
How pathetic is it when we're wholly owned and still have to submit proposals... By the way, how bad can it be if they are inviting everyone to come listen? I understand logic goes out the window when you step into our GO, but even they aren't stupid enough to say "Everyone come listen... your fired."

Building on a fleet of 63 two-class regional jets already planned for service by the end of 2008, Delta is replacing 14 CRJ aircraft currently in service with new Bombardier CRJ900s featuring 12 First Class seats. Later today, Delta will announce which Delta Connection partner will operate the additional two-class jets. Interesting, but still not getting my hopes up. |
I could see DAL coming into our hangar saying "Nice paint job, huh? Thanks for the paycuts... my bonus is ALOT bigger now. Oh... the 900's? Yeah, nice plane isn't it. We're giving them to Mesa.... See ya! Enjoy the paintjob!"
In case you couldn't tell, I'm not getting my hopes up either :) |
Delta Connection Goes First Class With More Two-Class Jets, Upgraded Onboard Amenities
Thursday May 24, 8:00 am ET Airline to replace 14 older CRJs with upgraded CRJ900s; Delta continues efforts to improve overall Delta Connection experience with investments in regional fleet, customer service ATLANTA, May 24, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL - News) is making flying regional jets fun again with the introduction of more First Class seats, enhanced snack and beverage service, and improved airport amenities for customers flying Delta Connection carriers to and from major U.S. hubs. ADVERTISEMENT Building on a fleet of 63 two-class regional jets already planned for service by the end of 2008, Delta is replacing 14 CRJ aircraft currently in service with new Bombardier CRJ900s featuring 12 First Class seats. With the additional aircraft, Delta Connection carriers will operate one of the industry's largest two-class regional jet fleets with 77 aircraft in service by the end of 2008, including 61 76-seat Bombardier CRJ900s and 16 70-seat Embraer 170s. ``A decade ago Delta Connection was the first program using regional jets in North America, making it possible for more customers and communities to be connected conveniently and comfortably to our major hubs,'' said Jim Whitehurst, Delta's chief operating officer. ``Today, we mark the next milestone in the evolution of regional flying by making Delta Connection service more like Delta mainline, with more First Class seats, improved onboard snack and beverage service, and a more seamless travel experience with mainline jets.'' In addition to fleet improvements, Delta also is investing in improved facilities and customer amenities for Delta Connection customers throughout its system. Planned improvements include: |
``Delta continues to listen to our customers who have told us that they prefer the option of First Class seats and enhanced service on the ground when they fly on Delta Connection,'' Whitehurst said. ``Our investment in additional two-class RJs, as well as continued investments in the customer experience at our airports, is a critical step in ensuring that customers who fly Delta and Delta Connection can expect similar levels of service on any size of airplane, from our regional jets to our flagship Boeing 777.''
Currently, Delta Connection carriers Shuttle America, SkyWest, Freedom Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines operate or are scheduled to operate two-class regional jets for Delta. Later today, Delta will announce which Delta Connection partner will operate the additional two-class jets. The Delta Connection program is the world's largest operator of regional jet aircraft with more than 470 aircraft in operation throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico with Delta Connection carriers Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Big Sky Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines, Comair, ExpressJet Airlines, Freedom Airlines, Pinnacle Airlines, Shuttle America and SkyWest. Delta Connection's regional jets feed flights to and from Delta's largest hubs and allow Delta to offer customers multiple frequencies and attractive fares, as well as nonstop service, in many small- to mid-size cities. |
There you have it!
|
So it sounds like its likely to be OH perhaps, but they are just replacing some of the 50 seaters?
|
so, the article didn't say who Delta is going to give these new jets to did they? I must have missed something...
|
You are correct, DL has not announced who will receive these. Not hard to put two and two together. Plus was told directly from main GO personal. Tin you are correct, these are replacing 50 seaters but any way you look at it, it is a positive sign, at least the most we have had here in years. Including this will provide movement in the pilot seniority ranks. A little anyways which could mean diffence from reserve to line holder. If only the trips could improve.
|
Trips will never improve so long as Delta keeps more than just a few Connection carriers.
|
Well, I have to disagree. I am not saying I will ever see the days of 26 hour four days and 17 to 18 days off a month. However I have seen other DCI with more producive trips. There is always room for improvement.
|
...and there you have it. Off to CVG (Or JFK) they go!
http://biz.yahoo.com/pz/070524/120248.html |
They are replacing 50 seaters with the 90s on a one-for-one basis.
As for being sold, Delta said a few weeks ago that Comair would not be sold, if at all, until next year. If Comair is to be sold, some spit and polish is going to be required, along with a ton of aircraft commitments and block hours. |
they told us they are all going to CVG initially, replacing the 50's and that the pilots will fly BOTH the 70 and 90

PAOK
notice the comair name isnt so big anymore. Loved the sparkling welch juice. I guess its a start to something better hopefully. Just trying to be positive |
Did anybody get any pictures?
|
|
CRJDriver,
Thanks for the photo. Not bad at all! V/R, Apollo |
Looks pretty sweet on the CRJ
|
Yeah, I'll admit, that doesn't look too bad, on the CRJ anyway. I still like the the red white and blue better. That sucks about the smaller Comair logo. That just looks pathetic. Should tell them not to listen to Delta, put the bigger logo on! Can't wait to see the 900s.
|
Delta is going to have so many Connection Carriers flying for them that we have become "little" too them. They just move the planes to whomever wants to fly. It might as well be a LCD screen that changes on every leg to whichever company is going to fly it.

You don't think 8 Delta Connection Carriers is enough? |
Heard that the upgrade class is being reduced... is that correct?
|
yes, for now.
