Comair's Big Announcement
 

So word here in Cincinnati is that on Monday there are two huge announcements, and that they are good...... I've heard a few rumors..... Anyone heard any others?

The word Republic has been thrown around a bit here in CVG........?

Dont know that this is good news, partially maybe. I heard the BOS base is being opened. (good news for alot of guys who live in that area but commute to JFK) Bad news is that I heard it will be at the expense of the GSO base being closed. No big source just the rumblings around the JFK ops towards the end of the week.

Haha we are so caddy with all our gossip and rumors, I heard that as well, they dont predict MCO to last much longer either......BOS would be good IMO

There have been a lot of rumors floating around lately, anything from new crew domiciles opening, us being sold to Mesa or Republic to that we are getting EMB-170s. Who knows?! I'll believe it when I see it;)

the rumor in the SOCC is that GSO and MCO are on the chopping block. I see MCO going personally and send those pilots up to CVG to help the staffing. Dave Soaper wanted to close one of them in the hopes of pushing Chautauqua out.... of CVG... Then again ive learned to wait and see with comair......

Interesting point last week we had State and County Commisioners touring the SOCC... I wonder whats up with that??????

Push CHQ out of CVG? to where? we just opened the base in Jan, so it has to be around atleast till Xmas, when they close it and displace us all to whatever the new base will be. I hope Republic doesnt purchase Comair, with us starting contract negotiations, it would be just another variable the company will try to use against the pilots.

Back to MCO perhaps? I don't think there would be any tears shed at Chautauqua if CVG closed and MCO reopened...

You are not kidding. The trips we do in CVG are all the short hops. Low credit. Makes for long days.

News is there is no news.

If there would be any news, there would be a press release. I can tell you however that we will unveil the first Comair aircraft painted in the new Delta paint scheme on Thursday!

From the man himself... Comair will be getting 36 CRJ1000's thrid quarter 08'

Umm... According to Bombardier, the first CRJ-1000 jet is scheduled to enter service in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2009. First flight is scheduled for the summer of 2008. Good one though! :)

Yeah, I really don't like the new Delta paint scheme. I like the current one. Oh well...

what are the odds of COMAIR opening a BOS domicile, I have a lot of friends that work there and they are saying GSO and MCO are probably out and ifany other base were to open it be BOS. I know COMAIR has or is making BOS a MX base so is it safe to assume that a pilot base is next???

I would say BOS is very likely. Crew room is there, it just needs crews.

So, I guess the big news will be announced on Thursday during the unveiling ceremony of the new Comair paintscheme. Jim Whitehurst, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Delta will be there to discuss Comair's future. According to Don, this will be "the most significant news for our company in quite some time."
