Default Great Lakes Assets Purchased by Alpine Air

I stumbled on this and thought it was interesting news. I know many friends who's careers started at Great Lakes;

I think Ameriflight doesn’t have the ability to compete with the 1900D. A year or so ago Alpine put out a release on getting an STC to certify the 1900D for single pilot cargo ops with an escape hatch in the copilot window. Sounded like a 5 year process. I don’t know if AMF is working on something similar? But, I bet Alpine isn’t selling the STC to them either. I can imagine the 1900D is good for cargo. Close to the EMB 120 but with less training and pilot cost and fuel.
