New regional mins?

When hiring starts again, what do you think the new mins will be for regional FOs?

SevereClear1 04-26-2020 08:38 AM

1. Former compass/transstates pilots
2. Highest hours not from those companies
3. Everyone else

They won’t change at all. The competitive qualifications will though.

Expect bonuses to be gone as well

To include “college degree preferred” at the regionals. Quality candidates when hiring starts.

My crystal ball says Summer or Fall 2021- 2022 competitive candidates will be hired. Late 2022-2023 hiring resumes for everyone else as they were prior to COVID-19 pandemic. Boeing does not see near-term value investing in regional fleets of Embraer aircraft, they backed out. It was the right decision for short term industry hemorrhaging. Scope is Gold.

I do not expect pay cuts at the regionals. Bonuses will disappear.

If the economy opens 1 month from now, the recession we all feared is still here to stay.

26+ million Americans are out of work now. Millions will be out of work many months from now even after the economy opens by the fall. Including pilots on October 1st. Unless a 2nd round of airline funding begins prior. Furloughed airline pilots not a good look for re-election come November.

~ My logic based prediction & crystal ball. Which is very accurate.

Actually all you need is about one hour of shuttle SIC.

This is where cadet programs, if they still exist, are actually beneficial as you usually have priority over outside candidates in hiring.

But from the company perspective, why bother?
