They haven't forgotten about it... they can start recouping all of the bonuses they had to pay the last few years.

Doubt it

Never underestimate the draw of a shiny RJ along with the promise that they’ll be a 777 captain at Delta in a few short years.

PFT? I'm not waking up for 0600 formation no matter how good the pay is.

There were some regionals who hired at 250-400 after the late '90s. Others stuck to their guns for 1000.

But if hiring was slow, competitive times went up quickly (ie 2002, 2008).

Freedom air/Mesa FO's were promised jobs at 190hrs TT, 141 commercial mins. I remember people getting hired with it too.

good point but that means they may have to wake up at 0400, be gone from home, talk to humans

That's what we all thought after the 92 recession, 9/11, etc.
There will always be someone willing to pay for a job.

190 hrs TT? By that point I'd barely learned where the flight school restroom was.

The difference now is that 1500 hr rule. Much much less likely someone who's had to CFI in the trenches from 250 to 1500 is going to then be willing to put up with the BS of all that.

I'd believe it if 250 TT were the mins like it was in the 2000's, but not today. The overwhelming majority will simply move on and find other careers.
