LW Carbon vs Briggs and Riley

I have some uniform allowance saved up, so I was thinking about purchasing a new fancy bag. Anyone have any experience with the carbon fiber LW? And as for the B&R does the bag have a good hook? I can't find any pictures of it with a hook and a good hook is a must for me.

Thanks yall.

There’s an active thread about these products in the Air Wisconsin forum.

I have a Briggs. I has a hook and I've had no issues with the hook. I like the bag but I prefer my LW Aurora better because it fits more stuff and rolls A LOT smoother. I also prefer the zipper expansion of the LW over the Briggs mechanical expansion (which doesn't always hold). No experience with LW carbon fiber though.

Does this allowance go to some separate account that you have to use through the company?

I have a carbon 2.0, I’m rough on bags. Aside from the j-hook, I have yet to have any issues after about 18 months with the bag. The OE j-hook has a design flaw, I swapped it with an aviator j-hook and have not had any issues since. I routinely overpack the bag, no structural issues. My prior bag was a stealth aviator and after two years the rails were bowed out compliments of the 200. The carbon does not have this problem, it’s not much lighter though. Just a better frame that doesn’t bend.

Where I'm at we get a fixed amount into the account with our uniform company that can be expended on roller bags every 2 years. We get reimbursed from that account for the amount we spent.

Yeah thats the exact issue my roller bag has the same issue. Thanks for your input on it!

I would recommend Strong Bags. I had one that lasted on a double leg commute for more than 7 years.

+1 for Strong Bags, Vortex 21”.

Agree with strongbags option. I Made the switch 3 years ago and love it.

I left the airlines but my current job beats up my roller bag more than it did when I was flying 121 and the strongbags is holding up way better than the LW I had.
