I was in a similar situation. I did wind up having to postpone my original interview date, and when I finally did interview, I didn't get hired. I'm not saying that contributed, but it might have. Like I said in another post, I must project the "I don't belong at ExpressJet" vibe.

Ooh, but there's a SkyWest open interview in San Diego next Thursday!

Thanks for the input and perspective. Hopefully it wasn't the wrong thig to do, but I contacted Angela, from recruiting by e-mail, and voice-mail. She indicated that she would contact me, as soon as she had the July interview dates.

I know that seniority is everything, but hell, I'm almost 38, and in the middle of a career change/mid-life crisis. I left the management side of the airline business to become a "stick wiggler", like I had always intended to, in the first place. When all is said and done, another month of eating beans, after 2 1/2 as a CFI, just doesn't seem that likely to matter, at the end of what should now be a 27 year career, if I can stay healthy.

Express Jet is my first choice, and I want to go into the interview with my best foot forward, and not looking like a "deer in the headlights", because I didn't have time to pepare. Besides, I've never left an employer on bad terms, and I don't want to start burning bridges now.

I'll let everyone who's interested, know the outcome. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Yeah, I hear ya. It was nothing too sinister though. I was an ops guy on the Flight Attendant side of the house. Spent a lot of years, throwin' bags, dumping lavs, selling tickets, a few years as a FA, and a Passenger Services Manager, before that. They were smart enough never to let me make any real decisions with the money....;)

Has anyone gotten an interview date in July for ExpressJet?

For future reference (when you're going through this process with major airlines) when you are in the "interview window" where you meet the minimums and are approaching competetive times you probably want to be in constant study mode. That way you have the ability to react to the last minute interview call...otherwies you may get three days notice (murphy's law says they will be long work days) to prepare for the interview for your dream job. You can at least study while in cruise flight.
