Dress like a bus-driver, get treated like a bus-driver.

Head over to terminal C. One airline located there allows it's pilots to wear baseball caps and non-regulation tie's. In fact the tie's come off when
the mercury hits 90F. They gave a good rep and are well respected by their counterparts. I bet some of you still get an erection when you see yourself in uniform, calm down.

In uniform wearing a baseball cap? Theres a picture I'd like to see.

Was he wearing it backwards or sideways?

Was he wearing the saggy pants with that?

The Coolest pilot I know wears caps.

Now that's how real pilots dress... I think any one of us besides our queer comrades that walk up and down the terminal hoping that someone will notice that they are a PILOT, wish that we could go to work in jeans and a polo shirt. Personally, I am glad I don't get my ohhh face when I see myself in a wrinkled, oily, yellow pit stained pilot shirt. Maybe if I gave a damn and ironed my clean shirt, I would.... nope, probably not!

I'd like to know how ya'll carry yourselves OFF the job as well.

I bet you all head off to the local Wal-Mart in your PJ's or sweatpants because it's just more "comfortable" too. Do you even brush your hair before going out in public? Or your teeth? Hell, why don't we all just forget the uniform and wear our jeans around our knees while we board the Aircraft?!

Once that door closes, wear whatever the hell you want, but when you're in Public View, grow up and don't embarress the rest of us.

Think about it: That NW Pilot that got nabbed at the border w/drugs several months back? Why did he make it into all the National papers? Because he's an AIRLINE PILOT. Do you think Joe Blow bus driver from L.A. would have made the evening news? I don't think so...the Public EXPECTS an Airline Pilot to be more Professional, on AND off the job. And we should be.

Actually I have heard several stories in the last couple months of bus and truck drivers getting caught with coke and other things while on the job. These things make national news all the time whether its a pilot doing it or a bus driver, we're not that special, the media just likes to let you know that the people you trust to transport yourself and 150 others make bad decisions too.

They're not trying to tell us anything - they're trying to SELL something...they'll put anything on the tube if it sells. An Airline Pilot getting nabbed with drugs IS bigger news than a bus driver.

I actually tend to believe that the story i heard about the bus driver getting caught with coke on the elementary school bus carrying kids to find out later he had a criminal record with drug convictions was bigger. Matter of opinion as to whats BIGGER news to you.
