In today’s hiring environment at the majors, there is a lot to be said for not even worrying about regional travel privileges, just flying your butt off, and getting a major seniority number a hundred more senior than you otherwise would have if you’d stayed an extra three months at the regional. Never in your flying career will 121 hours in your logbook be more valuable to you than they are today.
At the next level it’s seniority number that gives you the great schedules, best vacations, and most soft time, not memories of a week in Cancun when you were a regional FO.

Disagree. I’d take slightly lower priority to get employee privileges at all three legacies, AA, DL, UA. Gets you everywhere with often multiple options. At Republic every pilot is eligible for all three regardless of base (unlike Skywest).

Enjoy paying for that lower priority. As a crew member you can jumpseat on other carriers anyway, so why would it matter that you have close to the lowest priority on all 3?

More options and a significant other can’t and wouldn’t want to ride the JS in the cockpit? I’d assume that it’s a pretty safe bet that unless you travel on Christmas (or another major holiday) 1 of the 3 carriers would get you to where you’d want to go

If somebody wants to base their decision on which regional to work for based on travel benefits for their significant other, then good luck to them.

Who said anything about working for a regional based off travel benefits? There’s so much more to look at other than travel benefits. All things being equal at the different carriers, I’d take RPA. It’s not perfect, but what is?

I choose the best most easiest option that had a high chances of sitting first class. It worked out great.
