Default Grocery Labor Workers Threaten Strike...again...

This quote is taken from an article that was posted on June 24, 2007. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/m...43-strike.html

Arleen Contreras, who works at a Ralphs store in Escondido said: "I don't think anyone prefers a strike right now, either the companies or the union." Still, she said workers are growing impatient. "We've gone five months without a (new) contract. I don't think we should wait any longer."
I like how she says that they have grown impatient after waiting for 5 months. If the airlines could just do this and get things done quicker instead of waiting and being tagged along for 4+ years, it would be different. Yeah I know that we have different rules that govern our unions, but man, 5 months to get things done?! Wow...

What can we do different?

I'm just curious how often Ralph's plans on striking. My father law worked for them for like 20+ years out in southern California and when they went on strike a few years ago he had to quit and start over somewhere else.

Heh, I think they ended up getting what they were striking for though... Must be nice to be able to play hardball with the company eh?
