When I travel with my boards, I load bubble wrap and clothes into my board bag/coffin. A buddy of mine had 6 boards in his coffin and all 6 got snapped in half even with a truck load of bubble wrap! He complained to customer service and got $500 for each board broken. If I ever saw them throw my board, I would jump out of the plane and strangle the ramper.

Compared to what the airlines have lost on my trips I'd gladly loose a bag tag any day.
Jan 1st, 2002, DAL/ASA lost my Dog Jake in ATL. Yes, my living, breathing, barking Black Lab was lost in ATL for 8 hours thanks to a snow storm and (as I was told) a shift change.
Two weeks ago Carpatair was nice enough to rush me and four others to our flight to Romania, but left our bag on the Lufthansa flight we were on. Wouldn't have been a problem if they flew to Constanta, RO more often then every 2 days, but hey, it still wasn't my Dog.
