N42ER 07-01-2007 03:47 PM

Vref flaps 35...86 kts

It's fun because we can do almost anything with this plane

If you can still see it under the nose you can land on it... if you are good!

24OKTS on a 3 degree slope to less than 10 miles and you dont need to sweat it with only putting the power to idle. If you like to use the props as breaks in the air. you can pull it off at inside 5 miles and still make your speeds before 500 feet.

the best is when you land and make the turn off that 172 could not stop at.

N42ER, I can't send you a PM, but I gotta ask. You went to ERAU PRC right?

Exactly, what you COULD do screwing around empty and what you do in a normal day are totally different. There's something to be said for having landing numbers for a 2500' runway.

Well yeah its so terribly slow when it touches down, so its not all that difficult to get it stopped, simple psychics fellas

Is it just me, or are there other people out there who are tired of hearing, "This is what a Dash 8 can do that a jet can't..."?
Okay guys, we get it, the Dash can land and take off on a shorter runway than a jet. On the other hand, I bet the Dash can't do 445 KTAS at FL370. Each plane has their plusses and minuses. Can we give this crap a rest?

.

Well I dunno who you have been flying with but if you cant stop a 172 quicker than anyone in a part 121 airplane, you need some practice

Don't be jealous. Are you part of the Turboprop Pilot club? If not then it's tough to understand. Not only that, but if you don't like it, don't click on threads titled "Dash8...the scooope", I think it was pretty clear what the thread was about.
