AWAC Training??
 

Got the call today to go to DC for a july 21st interview. I was wondering if anyone who has gone through training there, can tell me how it is, do they go that extra mile to help those who struggle, what is the overall training program like for FO candidates? thanks for any info

We have a top notch training department. They will bend over backwards for you, as long as you have a good attitude. Indoc is 2 weeks, followed by 2 weeks of systems. Systems is a mix of classroom and computer based training. It is a good program, and it works well.

for the interview in DC, do they allow you to store your carry on luggage somewhere while you interview?? thanks

I had a buddy send myresume in about 3 weeks ago and they told him theyd call me????I am taking the ATP written Sunday. Should I resubmit my resume to them after I take it?? Or at least send a follow up email to see where I stand??

AWAC's training was very good. The instructors were all very knowledgeable, personable, and willing to help. They will not however, hold your hand. They are there to teach you the new airplane and company operations, not how to fly instruments or shoot approaches. With that said, I thought it was very fair and as pleasurable of an experience as training can be.

I have an interview with AWAC in Washington DC. July 21.
Will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City ($89 with Full Breakfast).
About 1500TT and want to know how is INDOC, Systems and all written Tests? Anyone who had a DC or non ATW interview chime in please.
I hear that indoc has 2 written exams? Which base is Jr? Someone from western usa.......

AWAC training is awesome. They put us up in hotels for almost 2 months and get you where you need to be for it. Indoc is actually pretty difficult in ATW. Mike makes it challenging and the test aren't a walk in the park. Systems is a breeze. Chris is awesome. Just grab a few beers with your class mates, chill out by the pool and go over everything that happened in class and start to quiz each other. The CLT Amerisuites is the best hotel for training. They take VERY good care of AWACers

Sim is fun. My instructor is my check airmen at the same time. He is really thorough and makes sure we are ready to be sent out of the line well in advance of the check ride.

Bases go either way. ORF is going to be shrinking. It's really is a toss up between DCA and PHL. I think if you want either one of them you can get there within 2 months of starting if your awarded a base you don't want.

Work hard
Be punctual
Be prepared every day
Don't be cocky
Play nice with your classmates

Notice how there is nothing here about being a genius.

AWAC training is tough, but absolutely fair and achievable. The tests are not easy. But they are not set up to trick the new-hires or anything like that. All the info is in the books. But you must read the books and pay attention in class.

AWAC training and flight dept. are very good. But like the others said, they are not going to teach you how to fly IFR.

If they hire you it is because you are qualified, not because they like to fire people during training.
