Hey AcePilot, Im very new to this site as well, but if you don't mind. How much time do you have? I've seen some guys get hired on Republic with 500/150. Just wondering cuz I'm really looking into Republic. Did you get to choose your base? Thanks in advance..

Hey Av,

I got hired at Republic with about 1200 total and 500 multi or so. A lot of the multi time is 121 CRJ time though. Not sure what they are looking for now to call for an interview, though. I interviewed with a few other guys who were CFIs with around that and some guys with other 121 and 135 time. If you are in a bridge program with CRJ training or something like that they may look at you with that amount of time.

They don't give you an option for a base, but when they offer you the job they will tell you what certificate they want you to work on (Chatauqua, Republic, or Shuttle) and what equipment. They will offer a class date and you can take it or not and then in training you get to find out what base you can hold. But if you want a particular base, you need to make sure you get on with the certificate that has that base because you can't switch certificates once you start until you upgrade. There are a few guys on the boards here that know more about them than I do, though. I dont even start there until the end of August. Hope that helps.
