airlineapps.com or not, I haven't found that much "human" contact in applying for an airline so far. Everyone seems to have an online application process.

I like actually talking to people, whether it be on the phone or in person. That way, I can get my point across much better and we also get to know one another. I don't want to be just another application in the pile or a number to be called. It would be nice to be treated like a human, a person, like the old days. I sent all my resumes to PSA, TSA and Piedmont through the good old mail and signed my name in blue ink at the bottom. I guess that doesn't count for anything anymore.

I'm pretty sure the airlines see your application the same way you do on airlineapps.com. There's an option to view your application on the website. I printed mine out and took it to an interview along with the rest of my paperwork. When I went in for the interview, they had the exact same printout already in my file. So, I'm pretty sure they see the same thing we do on that preview. I still hate that site though. It makes your time and experience conform to a cookie-cutter format. I like being able to format and present myself how I want on a resume.

Along the same lines, when all of you are filling out airlineapps, are you putting in your complete work history whether it has to do with flying or not? It might be a stupid question since they want to do background checks but I wasn't sure if the airlines needed that information upfront before they call your for the interview.

I would put everything down, flying related or not. The airline that hires you will most likely use this as the basis for a background check.

It is new to the industry, but it has been going on all over the 'real world' for a while now. Companies hire recruiters so they don't have to have such a large HR staff. The only way anyone will look at an airline that contracts with airlineapps will look at your paperwork is through airlineapps. I don't like it either, but it is a fact of life.

If you want to apply to more than 1 airline on airlineapps, just spend the money and take the tax writeoff. It's worth that much in time saved filing out the same form over and over.
