What ever happened to Go! ?

What ever happened to that cheapass piece of crap operation JO set up in Hawaii?? I have not heard a mention of them on the forumn in a long time.

Don't know. I hope they kicked the bucket.

The Hawaiians are too dedicated to Hawaiian and Aloha to let a Haole like JO get a peice of the action in the islands. They want Go! to pack their bags and get the ******* out of town. The only people riding on Go! are the tourists.

Was in Hawaii last month, they're still there.

Go! is still in business and are hanging in there. They continue to offer cut-throat fares and are giving local carriers a run for their money. Round trip inter-island fares that were once in excess of $200 at times are offered at $9 one-way.

And it's the low timers with no other options because they are to impatient that go to Mesa and keep this company going (along with TSA, Pinnacle, and Go Jets)

Woo hoo! Another whiny Mesa thread that is of no consequence and not constructive in the least- and started by a glider student no less!!

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!

To answer the original question, Go! is still there, and still charge super-low fares. I believe they are losing money hand-over-fist, and am not sure what the business plan is...

- Drive Hawaiin or Aloha out of business?

- JO might think Go! could be an effective tool to use against the mesa pilots for their contract negotiations...since it's a money-loser, JO could suddenly shut it down at a key time and scare the junior pilots into giving concessions.

Finally... some objective talk. I have heard JO say (on his weekly message) that "we" can afford to take a loss in Hawaii for quite some time. "We", meaning, well, you know what the repercussions of that are. I believe he's there to drive Hawaiian and/or Aloha out of business, but I seem to recall some alliance with a major mainland carrier that may make that more difficult. Agree on the negotiations thing, I can hear it now- "well, we're losing money in Hawaii, so you gotta take this contract or we'll have to send planes to China. Between the junior pilots and our spineless union, I have little doubt JO will triumph in the next contract negotiation.
