Congrats, Prelude. I start training, Monday, so I'll probably be in IAH during some of the same time that you are. Where did you instruct in the PHX area? I'm in the same area...

Hey Skynut,

I start training, Monday, and am hoping for an LAX or ONT base. So the curiousity is killing me...

Where are you sitting reserve? What bases did guys in your class get? When did you finish class? How long did you wait for IOE?

Thanks in advance, for any first hand intel.

I am sitting reserve in EWR but that is where i wanted to be. but the class was pretty much split in half EWR and LAX. I hear that ONT it pretty max out and not to many people getting it. but that is just rumor because i do not know for sure.

I started on May 7th passed the PC on June 20th and then started OE July 24th. My roomate started a week earlier so i would say the wait is about 3-4 weeks. They just finished a check airmen class in may.

Good luck! PM if you have any particular questions.

What were your times?

Preludespeeder,
I'm thinking about reapplying to Expressjet soon, I interviewed in April and didn't get the job.
I noticed you mentioned something about telling them if your instrument skills aren't that great?
Just curious what your instrument time is and what you did to prepare for the interview?

Thanks,
Ken

What color shirt did you wear?

Congratulations, welcome to the team ;)

The instrument time question is kinda a trick one, they want to here that you have been in a sim alot or doing a lot of actual flying. For me, I instructed at Pan Am, they allow us to get as much free sim time as we need. To answer your question, for yourself you should feel confident with your skills but no matter what the case is say you have good skills.

For the clothes choice, I went with a black three button suit, white shirt and a dark conservative tie. They want you to look professional.

I am very excited to be part of the team and hope to meet some of you out there to.

I got the offer to interview and picked the Aug 9th. Oh boy what have I got myself into . I've already been doing some preparing but the pressure is on now.

For entering ground school, what did you wish you had studied before entering XJT's ground school?

What did you study that you were glad you had studied?

What did you study that you later found you didn't need to have spent so much time on?

Thanks all!
