Flight Case

For $150, you can probably get something that looks good but doesn't last. My take is that if you aren't going to buy a Scott leather (~$400 for a lifetime case), then you should go as cheap as possible. Lots of guys carrying this "flight case" where I work, durability and value can't be beaten...

If you are new at a regional you aren't making enough money to afford $150 on a flight case and you definitely don't need to. Buy the $30 Staples or Office Depot catalog case and then slap a bunch of stickers on it and you have the standard regional kit. If you look hard in the crew room you will see this is the most common kit around. When you have a good job at a good company is when you should be thinking about a good flight kit. Honestly, extra money you think you have now should be saved for important things like food, rent, and beer.

Luggage Works Vinyl Flight Case
I got the luggage works vinyl flight case... it was under $90, I liked their ballistic one but it was a hard fit in the CRJ.
No idea how long the vinyl case will hold up for (only had it 3 months)... I didn't want to fork over the money for the leather one. But I have been really happy with my other luggage works purdy-neat rollaboard.
