I don't have a problem with the E190/195 replacing other narrowbodies...as long as they are flown by mainline pilots at mainline payrates under mainline work rules.

I hear that.......

Everyone keeps going on about how the 190/195 should be flown by mainline pilots for mainline rates... stop me if I am wrong, but aren't ALL 190's being flown by mainline (or mainline-like Jet Blue) pilots? What exactly are we complaining about? Are you upset that mainline pilots are flying these airplanes? Or that the MAINLINE pilots AGREED to fly these planes for regional rates?

BoilerUP 08-12-2007 01:25 PM

Mainline pilots need to fly the aircraft that are replacing mainline aircraft...regardless if the payrate is "regional" or not. It can be the bottom airframe at a major, or the top airframe at a regional.

Which would would YOU prefer it to be?

bottom line there are too many regional jets!

Well I think you better buckle up then, I firmly believe that its really just getting started. The so called mainline carriers will be more and more involved in LONG haul / transcon / international flying and the so called regionals are going to do more and more of the mid length flying. It is what it is... and what is has become.....I think there will be some upward pressure on regional pay scales as the number of REALLY qualified pilots dwindles. Personally find it pretty amazing what the mins are at some of carriers now. But again, that is just a sign of the times.

No the REAL BOTTOM LINE is that there are too many BOTTOM FEEDER PILOTS willing to fly those Regional Jets for 20 and 50 bucks an hour.

And remember. Nobody wants to "Scope you out". We want to scope out the crappy pay.

Too bad mainline pilots didn't scope out that flying for themselves a decade ago.

Otherwise, this "BOTTOM FEEDER PILOT" RJ pilot agrees with you...

So what's the "Smart Thing" to do? We should all stop flying and then we'll show them right?

I'm amazed at how many post's include this bull! It doesn't even make sense.
