What the F*%$???? Turned down Republic to go to Pinnacle for a girlfriend? That's the funniest damn thing I've ever heard.

Not to be a downer, but one of the casualties at TWA were the many married couples that were both employed at TWA.

Within months after the merger with AMR, both breadwinners were unemployed. Many who never dreamed the furlough would reach that far into the TWA seniority list had made plans to start a family, buy a house, invest in their retirement only to find that the pink slips went to 100% of the TWA Flight Attds. and almost 1900 of the 2400 TWA pilots. Some of these pilots had been hired back in 1988 and went from the Captain's position to the unemployment office.

My point is being married at the same airline or any other corporation is a good thing especially in good times, but when times get tough be prepared since all of your eggs are in one basket.

Or just get a good hunting dog.

Yep I'd be cautious about dipping my pen in company ink just for that reason - ESPECIALLY at the Regional level. This industry is far too volatile to have your entire life woven around a single Airline!
