Default CRJ training software

Any suggestions/comments/experiences with either of these ?? I'm looking for the best interactive software package that will help me learn the CRJ systems as well as learning the cockpit (FMS etc.). I plan on playing with the MS FS CRJ add-on ( by Wilco) but also want something a little more sofisticated. Both of these look pretty good.

I have aerosim, and it is EXTREMELY useful for learning the FMS, navigation, and auto flight control system. Many airlines use it on a CBT.

I have v1.0 Rel-B, which is pretty outdated as far as the FMS software is concerned...you can still get the fundamentals but a lot of details are different. I assume there is a newer version.

I would suggest that you don't use the software until you are in ground school and have been trained on the AFCS and FMS (or at least have read the chapter). If you have previous AFCS/FMS experience you can probably figure it out on your own.

I have never heard of both of them, with that, i wouldnt use them, i have had my fair share of Scams...... im not calling these sites scams, im just saying there are better.......

Although i prefer PMDG for 747, 737, and MD-11, Level-D for my 767, and Eaglesoft for my GA Craft, a site called, Wilco/Feelthere is the best choice for a CRJ/ERJ class aircraft..... They have full FADEC, FMS, AP, and full glass cockpits..... Check it out....

Hope that helps....

Wilco is the CRJ Add-On for MS Flight Sim 'game'. I would expect it to be less than acurate but .... I just want to familiarize myself with the CRJ before heading off to an interview and a sim evaluation.
Thanks for the replies

Ummm....Aerosim is not a video game, it is PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SOFTWARE, designed to be used by REAL pilots who arre getting qualified on REAL turbojet aircraft. You may not have heard of it, but the professionals and the airlines certainly have

Hey Rickair- What product/s would you recommend to get ahead of the game when still pursuing that 1st regional job. Or is it better to wait until you get hired somewhere first?

Flight Sim, when used with purchased software, can hardly be called a 'video game'..... video game, in my opinion, is a game used to keep the 10 year olds busy, in which the 'video game' has no intent on teaching you anything....

Sorry, you dont learn how to operate LNAV, VNAV, and FADEC (ect.) from a 'video game'

make me sad

Let me ask, have you ever used a High End Sim Addon from a 3rd party developer..... i actually prefer that over these Aerosim websites.... in terms of Software, but i do like the hardware these Aerosim developers offer.....

Trying to get ahead for 121 training is not required, and is not likely to be helpful since every airline has different procedures and and a different version of FAR 121 by which they operate.

Preparing for the interview is what you should be concerned with...

Know basic 121 rules (get the internet gouge to narrow it down).

If you expect a sim eval on an interview you will need to prep for that using (preferably) an identical of similar sim. If that's not practical, use MS Flight sim with an aircraft similar to the sim you expect to use. Any other high-end PC flight sim game would probably work too, just use an appropriate aircraft model.

Other than that, be knowledgeable about your current job and aircraft.
