For those that have left without fulfilling the contract:
Anyone have their credit report affected by breaking the contract? And what's the process/time frame after leaving in which the company comes after you? How many of you have settled on a lower number out of court? Colgan could be worse but I'm considering leaving and no one seems to be able to give me any concrete information on the consequences of leaving early. any help is appreciated. |
Someone please tell me where the "if I don't like it, I can just walk away and forget that I signed a contract" clause is?
If you don't like the company (Colgan or otherwise), grit your teeth and do your time. Or leave and pay the remainder. But, I guess it is no big deal... just like the people who signed a mortgage that was more than they could afford. |
Except when you sign a for your house, you are told what you will pay, what the conditions are, and there is a two sided contract including your rights.
Colgan tell you what you will earn, how many days off you have, what your quality of life will be, but don't give you a contract, then make up changes to suit them as they go along. You have no rights when it comes down to it. So why not change the training contract and elect not to pay? That would seam fair, but I guess the courts would see otherwise. Oh well, its all a lesson in life isn't it. |
I left about 1 1/2 months early on the training contract. Its been about 1 1/2 months since I left, nothing about a contract has come to my house. In fact, they even sent me a per diem check last month. :)
